Regardless of the power
that men like to think they hold in the world
all of the kings and captains and warriors
all the craftsmen and doctors and sorcerers
who practice with sweat or with intellect
to create beauty or love everlasting
they are all just layman and can never perform
the most powerful and beautiful act in nature
they cannot practice the most sacred of magic
that only comes from a woman gifting
her blood to the moon every month
it is only the woman who can feel the very first kicks of creation
or hear a new heartbeat inside them
and give birth to life itself
who will selfishly give her own body
to growing and nurturing new life
the greatest and most divine expression
of love that is known on the earth
